Well, [info]airbornevet gave me an email slap and asked when I was going to update.  I'll spare the public in general the painful details of the past 3 weeks, although I will say that I've been out of town twice during the last 13 days, and the two trips totaled 9 days.  As the first entailed moving a 90-year-old unwilling and uncooperative relative from Chicago to here (i.e., flying, packing, organizing, flying, unpacking, etc.), only the second-- the martial arts instructors' camp-- was actually fun, despite a bruise across the bridge of my nose and an ankle so badly sprained that at first I thought I'd cracked a bone.  I came home from that a half day early, thanks to the foot injury and the news that Goblin was refusing to eat.  By my count at the time (this was Monday), he had succumbed to some kind of psycho-beaten-dog-flashback-thing on Friday, which is when he decided to stop eating and sink into self-invented terror.  Prior to the Chicago trip (which came on VERY suddenly), I spent every waking moment making arrangements here and doing long-distance closure.  Now, with the husband out of town again, I'm trying to integrate the relative into our lives here (she needs daily visits and assistance), catch up on web design clients who are waiting patiently for their pages to be updated, get back to the day job, sort through the confusion this caused, and find some danged time to write.

I apologize now, in advance, for not being able to get together with all the friends I wanted to while I was in Chicago-- Tina (who I think was out of town anyway), the TTales gang, Wayne, Rochelle (who has a BRAND new baby girl I haven't even seen yet!), Robyn & Matt, Adrienne, Maureen, Deb & Pat, the Degerberg gang, and I'm sure I've missed others who should be on this list, too.  I wanted so badly to see everyone, but I had to get the relative out of a bad situation FAST, whether she wanted to go or not (not).  Believe me-- I would have much rather gotten lost in a whole bunch of evenings with friends, wine, and the great Chicago food I just can't get down here.

Goblin is, mostly, clawing his way back to his low-key sunshine (?) self.  And I can't decide which hurts worse, my nose or my foot.  ::hmph::
