FINAL IMPACT up for auction!

Final Impact
Thank you to all the folks who made such nice comments about my Mom's picture. They are all very much appreciated. Sooner or later I'll come across that other copy of BH&G and post that photo, too.

In other news, there is a used copy of Final Impact up for auction on eBay right HERE. A bit under two days left as of this writing, and I don't know the Seller (although he or she has 100% positive feedback), but I know that the opening bid of 50 cents ($3.00 for shipping) is mighty mighty Cheap (with a capital "C"). I think I only have two copies left myself-- I'm almost tempted to bid on it!

So anyway, if you've wanted to snag a copy, this is as low a price as I've seen in years. Red Shadows, the follow-up, can be read without reading Final Impact first, but it's just a helluva lot more fun if you can read 'em as I wrote 'em.

Books Not Bombs
Oh, for heaven's sake. The reason, I was told in an email and by a live-chat eBay person, that both mine and The Husband's auctions went up at full listing price rather than the 10 cents price, was that the 10 cents price (and hey, has anyone but me noticed that the cents sign is gone from the modern keyboard?) is only for FIXED price auctions. Which leads me to ask, how can an item be an AUCTION item if it's a FIXED price item? In any case, I never saw that limitation, and neither did The Husband. So now I have a bunch of stuff up on eBay that really only has a slim chance of selling, the economy being what it is (a copy of King's My Pretty Pony, some signed Buffy and solo novels), and I'm going to end up owing eBay a small chunk of change for the privilege of not selling this stuff.

My friend Amy, who used to hail from Long Island, always knew how to best describe people who put you in situations like this:

"Bastids!"

We had a huge late lunch, and have thus totally screwed up our plans for dinner.

Pink Nails
So today ebay is having a 10 cent listing day. To take advantage of that, I put up some Buffy books, some solo novels, and a nearly pristine copy of My Pretty Pony by Stephen King. I figured if the stuff doesn't sell, I'm only out $1.05 (I paid an extra 35 cents for a gallery photo of the King book). Except, of course, at the end of it all, despite advertising all OVER the place, ebay didn't register the 10 cents per listing fees and instead charged the full amount.

::sigh::

Anyway, here are the all bright and new and shining AUCTIONS, if anyone cares to take a peek.

Busy here, trying to catch up. Kind of tired. Been trying to exercise again, planning some upcoming travel. Made our hotel reservations for World Horror 2007 when we heard people were having problems. Did it online with no difficulties; now let's see if we actually have a room in March. We're between class sessions at work, but due to having an entire class added to the yearly schedule, our break is now only one week. It's not much for such an intense course. Marine Ball on Friday, a chance to wear a formal gown for the first time in a year. ::eek:: Should've started that (re)exercising program a month ago instead of a week.

Ghost is having skin problems yet AGAIN. It hasn't affected her appetite or energy. Little does. ha ha
