Guerrilla Mortals, anyone?

There's a used copy of the AfterAge paperback up on eBay here. In my opinion, the shipping is kind of steep-- the Seller ought to be mailing using Media Mail. Still, it's a hard-to-come-by book, so if anyone's looking to snag a copy... well, there you go.

Part of the description ("...
scattered survivors hide behind fortified walls and raid deserted stores for supplies as they plan to fight back.") is one I haven't seen since the book came out-- that line was something a Chicago neighborhood newspaper cooked up after receiving one of my press releases. Go figure. But another part:

The tale is set in Chicago's downtown Loop two years after a vampire uprising has decimated the human population and turned the city into a mausoleum ruled by the undead. These are not the sophisticated killing machines of other vampire apocalypse stories, but a headstrong, impulsive lot who have all but depleted their food supply and must feed sparingly on a small herd of human cattle penned up in the abandoned Merchandise Mart. This sets the stage for a Dirty Dozen scenario in which a troop of guerrilla mortals, most of whom assumed he or she was the last living human, unite to liberate the captives.

...is wording I find quite funny. I never pictured any of the characters looking like Lee Marvin or Charles Bronson, but now I can hear the danged music in my head!

Hello. This is where I came in lol, with Afterage.

I personally love that book, and think it would make a fantastic movie. Very I Am Legend :)

And I will be keeping my battered copy, bought from a Houston gas station, very close for years to come!

:)

They're probably adding on a couple $ for handling...I add from $2-3 per auction to the shipping for handling as it costs on average at least $4 to list/pay ebay/pay paypal per auction.
